Bellflower Food Review
We finally made it to the Bellflower Garstang to taste the food on offer.
Arriving on a Thursday night at about 6.15pm the car park was quite full however there was plenty of room inside.
We were greeted at the door of the Bellflower pub Garstang by a pleasant waitress who suggested a table by the door but we chose one further inside the pub. Our waitress showed us to our table but did not take our drinks order and it was some time before another waitress came by and we were able to order some drinks.
Our drinks duly arrived and we settled back to wait to get our food order in. After a while and with people who had arrived long after us getting their meals served we managed to attract the attention of another waitress, who then called yet another waitress who finally took our food order.
As there were three of us we were not able to get the maximum benefit of the two for one meal offer, I selected grilled Sea Bass from the specials menu and my companions both settled for Rump Steak.
The menu has a lot of variety, there were twenty five meals on the specials board alone, and the prices looked reasonable with the Sea Bass, from the specials board, at £11.99 and the ten ounce Rump Steak at £12.99 before we do the maths and we get the least expensive meal free.
The meals themselves at the Bellflower Garstang were okay, without being anything to write home about and would be excellent value at the two for one price, two steaks of this quality for £13.99 would be very good value indeed, but for one steak at this price that is not so good, there are better steaks available elsewhere.
The Bellflower pub Garstang has an indoor play area for under fives and an outdoor play area for older children, couple this with a nice children's menu and the kids are going to be very happy here, also for al fresco the outside area is rather pleasant in the summer sunshine.
To sum up, if you can maximise the two for one offer then the Bellflower Garstang is excellent value and you will not be disappointed, however if you are paying the price for one meal then I would say its a bit over the top and better meals are available at those prices. If you are going with the kids, they will love it.
Check out our other Garstang pubs, in August the Kenlis Arms have a two for one offer on and this will be my next port of call, come back and check for the review here.
