Garstang Marina

Canal Boat Moorings.

The small rural Lancashire parish of Nateby is home to Garstang Marina, with 270 canal boat berths the largest marina on the Lancaster Canal.

Garstang Marina first opened on the Lancaster Canal in 1995 with one canal boat mooring basin. It was an immediate success leading to the building of a second basin in 2000 and a further extension of capacity with the addition of a third canal boat mooring basin in 2003, continuing to invest in Garstang Marina the owners added further upgrades and modifications in 2009 and Garstang Marina can now accommodate 270 canal boats up to seventy foot in length in this beautifully landscaped twelve acre three basin site.

Garstang Marina is home to live aboard canal folk and long term canal boat moorings for occasional cruisers on the Lancaster canal. There are sometimes vacancies for short term canal boat and narrow boat moorings.

Located where the old Garstang to Knott End railway line crossed the Lancaster Canal in the Nateby section of the Lancaster canal the water-borne entrance to Garstang marina is some four hundred yards, or metres, north of bridge 64, with road access from Nateby Crossing Lane which is the road crossing the Lancaster Canal at bridge 64. Road access towing or carrying boats however will be better achieved leaving the A6 at Cockerham road and approaching from the north of Nateby Crossing Lane.

Garstang Marina offers a host of facilities to Lancaster Canal boats including electric hook up, toilets and showers, canal boat workshop, indoor canal boat storage, hard standing, winter canal boat storage, launderette and ample car parking.
