Lingmell, Scafell Pike and on the right, todays objective, Scafell. Taken from the road by Wast Water.
My route to Scafell, alongside the fence then bear to the left and up, if I can not get over the scree I shall be a bit peeved..
Wast Water, Wasdale and the steep climb up.
Lingmell Scars and the path up to Scafell Pike.
A long way to go yet to Scafell summit. As Wainwright described a barren featureless rock.
Approaching the summit, a beautiful blue skye.
Scafell Pike from Scafell summit.
The bottom of the first section of Lords Rake, from Scafell.
Third section of Lords Rake, from the top looking down.
Wasdale Head Inn and journeys end, in view.
